What is an MFT?
A Marriage and Family Therapist is trained in looking at client’s issues from a systemic point of view. That means an MFT evaluates and treats mental and emotional problems within the context of the family and larger community system. Marriage and family therapists treat a wide range of clinical problems including depression, marital problems, anxiety, individual psychological problems, and child-parent problems.

More information on MFTs and their training is available from The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
